Our Society
It all started with a Facebook post.

An online discussion on the condition of the old Courthouse led to a meeting of like minded people who wished to fill a void in the county: the preservation of our landmarks, historical structures, and local history.
Who We Are:

We are just a group of people interested in the preservation and appreciation of the history of Lawrence County Alabama. Our first priority is saving the historic Courthouse and courthouse square, but all of the historical landmarks of Lawrence County are in need of preservation and awareness. Some of our historical landmarks are in severe disrepair or have been lost forever.
The following is a list of all the Lawrence County properties that are on the National Historic Register (NHR), and/or on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
